Position Overview
Power your future with Qualus in our Engineering department as an Associate Project Manager. Under general direction, assists in managing a portfolio of electric utility projects through all phases of planning, engineering, design, permitting, construction, and closeout. This role supports the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned projects to ensure alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, clients, and stakeholders, the Associate Project Manager helps ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within scope, on schedule, and within budget, while assisting with permitting, resource planning, budgeting, and project coordination activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and successful delivery of assigned projects.
- Assist in defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and tracking tools to monitor progress and key milestones.
- Coordinate internal project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to support project execution.
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting activities.
- Support resource allocation planning to ensure project needs are met efficiently.
- Monitor project schedules and deliverables to help ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Track project performance and provide regular status updates, reports, and documentation to Project Managers and leadership.
- Facilitate communication among project team members, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Support quality assurance activities to ensure project deliverables meet company and client expectations.
- Identify project risks, issues, and potential roadblocks, and assist in developing solutions and corrective actions.
- Assist with managing project changes, scope modifications, and schedule adjustments while maintaining project objectives.
- Support permitting, procurement, contractor coordination, and construction activities as required.
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and project management systems.
- Provide administrative and technical support to Project Managers to ensure successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field and 2+ years of project coordination, project management, or related experience; OR Associates degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; OR 6+ years of relevant project management, project coordination, utility, construction, engineering, or operational experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience supporting engineering, utility, infrastructure, construction, or capital projects through planning, execution, and closeout.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including scope, schedule, budget, resource, and risk management.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present project status, risks, and recommendations to project teams and leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize project management, financial, and business systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
