The Role As the Senior Civil Project Manager, you will oversee the successful execution of complex heavy civil infrastructure projects while managing project teams, client relationships, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and overall project performance.
You will work closely with Superintendents, Project Coordinators, Estimators, consultants, municipalities, and executive leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual and operational objectives.
This role requires strong leadership capability, commercial acumen, and deep technical understanding of heavy civil construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the overall execution ofheavy civil infrastructure projects from pre-construction throughcompletion
Manage project schedules,budgets, forecasting, and cost control activities
Oversee Project Coordinators,Superintendents, subcontractors, and project support teams
Maintain strong client,consultant, and municipal relationships throughout project delivery
Coordinate procurement,subcontractor management, and construction planning activities
Monitor project progress andproactively resolve operational and commercial issues
Ensure compliance with contractrequirements, specifications, and project milestones
Lead project meetings, progressreviews, and reporting activities
Support tender reviews,budgeting, change management, and risk mitigation initiatives
Collaborate closely withexecutive leadership and operations teams on project strategy andexecution
Ensure strong health & safetyperformance across all project activities
Mentor and support thedevelopment of junior project staff
Who You Are
10+ years of Project Managementexperience within heavy civil or municipal infrastructure construction
Strong experience managingprojects involving:
Sewer & watermain
Road construction
Earthworks and grading
Municipal and transportationinfrastructure projects
Proven ability to manage complex,multi-phase infrastructure assignments
Strong understanding ofconstruction contracts, scheduling, forecasting, and cost management
Excellent leadership,communication, and problem-solving abilities
Experience managingsubcontractors, consultants, and client relationships
Strong organizational andoperational management skills
Proficient with projectmanagement software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
Engineering, ConstructionManagement, or related technical education is considered an asset
Experience working with publicsector or municipal infrastructure clients is highly desirable
