Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support civil construction projects within the utility industry. This role will assist with project planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and day-to-day project coordination to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate is eager to build a career in construction management, possesses strong organizational skills, and can effectively communicate with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with planning, execution, and closeout of utility construction projects.
- Support project estimating, budgeting, and cost tracking activities.
- Coordinate schedules, resources, permits, and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress and help identify and resolve issues affecting schedule or budget.
- Work closely with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, contracts, and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and project specifications.
- Participate in site visits and travel as required to support ongoing projects.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction, utility operations, project coordination, estimating, or related fields preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software is a plus.
- Software’s used (can be taught if not familiar): Onscreen Takeoff, Procore, Excel, Google Earth
- Valid driver's license required.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
