Overview As Project Controls Manager, you lead cross-discipline controls teams on high-risk, high-value programmes to secure delivery. You shape scope, establish robust baselines, and integrate cost, schedule, and risk for informed decisions. You’ll collaborate with clients, suppliers, and Integrated Project Teams to ensure governance and data quality. Responsibilities - Lead cross-discipline Project Controls teams on complex, high-value projects
- Define scope with exclusions, interfaces, dependencies and develop Work Breakdown Structure
- Establish Performance Measurement Baseline and manage change control
- Collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyse performance data per contractual requirements
- Ensure scope, cost, risk and schedule alignment and integration
- Analyse performance data (Earned Value) to enable delivery decisions
- Coordinate with Finance to generate Cost and Cash ETC and EAC profiles
- Oversee Quantitative Risk Analysis and risk management processes
- Support Project Managers in resource deployment with resource-loaded schedules
- Establish governance processes for auditable decision making
- Assure quality and integrity of Project Controls outputs
- Build strong relationships for delivery recovery planning
- Communicate delivery performance to stakeholders and promote process improvements
- Mentor and coach team members for continuous capability growth
Key requirements - Proven track record delivering projects in defence or infrastructure in regulated sectors
- Experience across entire Project lifecycle in Project Controls
- Experience in two or more disciplines: Planning & Scheduling, Cost Estimation, Cost Control, Risk Management, or Performance Reporting with related software/tools
- Strong understanding of Integrated Project Controls operations
- Proactive, curious attitude; comfortable in uncertain environments
- Strong communication and leadership; ability to influence, motivate, and foster inclusivity
- Ability to empower teams and build supportive networks beyond delivery
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent
- Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM or PMI)
- Ability to make risk-based decisions under uncertainty
- Flexible leadership style for diverse audiences
- Proficiency in the required software tools to perform the role
- Willingness to work across sectors and with various clients
- On-site collaboration with clients 2–3 days per week with UK travel possible
