Overview As Project Manager you drive delivery for a live on-site project within Mace’s consultancy arm in the Ministry of Justice portfolio. You lead cross-functional teams, manage time, budget and quality targets, and ensure safe, collaborative delivery through handover. The role blends on-site leadership with hybrid work, linking a wider programme of prison projects. You will shape project plans, coordinate stakeholders, and advance the client’s strategy in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities - Lead delivery of the project in line with the Project Execution Plan and KPIs
- Supervise project teams and relevant stakeholders to achieve objectives
- Monitor health, safety and wellbeing across all stages
- Prepare and update project plans throughout the lifecycle
- Manage timeframes and budgets; identify risks and mitigations
- Ensure robust quality systems with stakeholders and supply chain
- Coordinate and document meetings, site walks, and actions
- Engage in risk management and stakeholder collaboration
- Record and manage project changes and approvals
- Contribute to net zero carbon transition during delivery
- Collaborate with the wider programme and on-site team
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners
- Support handover and delivery milestones with alignment to client strategy
- Ensure clear communication of progress and contextual information to all parties
Key requirements - Project management experience (or equivalent)
- MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS (or working towards) or local equivalent
- Tertiary qualifications in related discipline or equivalent experience
- CSCS card or equivalent
- Experience managing small to medium projects
- Strong communication, presentation, planning and development skills
- Budget oversight capability
- Advanced stakeholder coordination and communication skills
- Knowledge of PM methodologies and practices
- Strong client-focused negotiation skills
- Proactive budget and fee management to deliver outcomes
- EL1 vetting clearance (required)
- On-site presence 2–3 days per week with hybrid work option
