Overview In this Senior Project Manager role, you will lead the delivery of complex, high-value programmes in a highly regulated nuclear environment. You will collaborate with customers, internal teams and partners to ensure safety, quality and on-time, on-budget delivery. The position sits within Project Management to drive governance, planning and continuous improvement across multi-disciplinary teams. Responsibilities - Ensure projects are delivered against customer requirements, scope, time and budget while minimising risks
- Maintain compliance with nuclear safety, quality and environmental standards
- Execute project management processes on assigned projects
- Create and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers and budgets
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessments for project activities
- Manage contracts and procurement in line with processes
- Oversee stakeholder and vendor relationships across functions
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects
- Monitor performance, report regularly and implement corrective actions
- Provide input on resource needs and future workload
- Conduct lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
- Champion project governance, quality assurance and change control
- Foster safety, continuous improvement and innovation culture
- Coach and mentor junior team members
- Deliver projects within agreed timeframes, cost, scope and quality metrics
- Maintain strong customer relationships and effective interface management
- Capture and apply lessons learned to future projects
Key requirements - Degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline
- APM PPQ or equivalent, working towards Chartership
- Member of a recognised project professional body (e.g., APM, PMI)
- IOSH or NEBOSH Managing Safely (highly desirable)
- In-depth knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 19443) and IMS systems
- Knowledge of nuclear safety culture attributes
- Experience with large, highly regulated projects (5M+ projects)
- Proficiency in project controls artefacts (schedules, cost models)
- Experience with Primavera and MS Project for tracking and resource management
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean and continuous improvement approaches
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder influence skills
