Senior Project Manager – Indianapolis
A well-established general contractor in Indianapolis is looking to add an experienced Senior Project Manager to their team. This is an opportunity for a proven construction professional who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout and serve as a key point of contact for clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
The ideal candidate has a strong commercial construction background and experience managing healthcare, education, institutional, or other complex commercial projects .
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through completion, managing budgets, schedules, contracts, client relationships, and the overall project team.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can independently run work, anticipate issues, and keep projects moving while maintaining strong relationships with clients and trade partners.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Own project budgets, schedules, contracts, and overall financial performance
- Manage and mentor Project Managers, APMs, and project support staff
- Work closely with Superintendents to coordinate day-to-day project execution
- Lead owner, architect, subcontractor, and project team meetings
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
- Develop and maintain project schedules and identify potential delays
- Review plans, specifications, scopes, and contracts
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
- Identify and resolve project issues before they impact cost or schedule
- Participate in preconstruction, estimating, and business development efforts as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of commercial construction experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager
- Experience independently managing projects from start to finish
- Strong background in commercial, healthcare, education, or institutional construction
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and subcontractors
- Strong understanding of construction documents and project controls
- Excellent communication and client-management skills
- Ability to lead and mentor junior project team members
- Procore or similar construction management software experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
