Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Andover, Hampshire (with travel to project sites)

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and growing contractor seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in Mechanical Building Services to manage projects across the Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Residential and Public Sectors.
The successful candidate will oversee mechanical projects from initial planning and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities

Managing mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Overseeing mechanical installations, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework and plantroom systems.

Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and site teams.

Managing project programmes, budgets, procurement and resources.

Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and implementing solutions.

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM 2015 and RAMS.

Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

Managing commercial activities, including cost control, variations and forecasting.

Attending site meetings and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Overseeing quality control, testing, commissioning and project handover.

Managing works within live and operational environments while minimising disruption.
Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within M&E, Building Services or Construction.

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework and mechanical plant installations.

Experience managing mechanical projects from initial planning through to completion.

Good understanding of project programming, procurement and commercial management.

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.

Strong knowledge of construction health and safety regulations.

Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Willingness to travel to various project locations.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
-
HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.

SMSTS qualification.
-
CSCS Card.
-
First Aid at Work.

Previous experience working on MOD, Defence, NHS, Education or Public Sector projects.

Experience delivering projects within live hospitals, schools or secure environments.

Knowledge of HTM guidance, CIBSE, BSRIA and relevant Building Regulations.

Experience managing complex mechanical installations and plantroom projects.

Existing security clearance or ability to obtain relevant clearance.
