IntroductionWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead large-scale infrastructure and cloud-based IT initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in driving the successful delivery of complex projects, including data center modernization, cloud migrations, backup and disaster recovery, and enterprise system transitions. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication skills and the ability to drive results without direct authority.
Required Skills & QualificationsMust-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered:
- 10+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 5+ years focused on infrastructure or cloud-related projects.
- Proven experience in delivering cloud migration initiatives (e.g., lift-and-shift, database upgrades/refactoring).
- Strong understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategy planning and implementation.
- Experience managing infrastructure rollouts (e.g., networking, virtualization, servers, and storage).
- Full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and infrastructure project lifecycles.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, mediation, and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Agile experience with the ability to adapt to varying delivery methods.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship needed at any time.
Preferred Skills & QualificationsNice-to-have skills that would make a candidate more competitive but are not required:
- Experience working in hybrid IT environments (on-prem and cloud-based systems).
- PMP certification.
- Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM), endpoint management, and infrastructure security controls.
- Experience using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of ITIL, DevOps, and CI/CD environments.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver three or more concurrent large-scale infrastructure/cloud projects across cross-functional teams.
- Plan and coordinate initiatives such as software migrations, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure transformations.
- Act as the central point of coordination among engineering, architecture, DevOps, cybersecurity, and business teams.
- Develop and manage project documentation, including schedules, budgets, risk registers, and status reports.
- Proactively handle scope changes, risk mitigation, and dependency tracking.
- Facilitate project planning sessions and regular sync meetings with stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, technical leads, and operational staff to ensure alignment and execution.
- Support compliance activities including audits and internal controls as needed.
