Job Description:
The role is a contract Senior Project Manager supporting a large global insurance organization within Accumulation Management / Catastrophe (CAT) Modeling. The PM will manage multiple technical initiatives that support a global platform used by stakeholders across regions, with primary collaboration occurring in the North America time zone.
Key Responsibilities
Lead 2 medium-to-large corporate-funded projects plus 2–3 smaller initiatives at any given time (no more than ~4–5 total concurrently).
Manage end-to-end project delivery, including planning, execution, risk management, budgeting, and status reporting.
Ensure adherence to corporate governance and financial tracking processes.
Provide clear written and verbal communication to a globally distributed stakeholder group.
Support portfolio-level reporting and coordination with another PM on larger initiatives.
Facilitate decision-making by developing a strong understanding of the business and technical context (beyond basic coordination).
Project Types
Commercial Property Service: Development of a self-service internal tool enabling underwriters to submit and adjust data and receive catastrophe model outputs for pricing.
Application Modernization: Refactoring and modernizing an internally developed accumulation management platform to improve scalability and performance.
Additional initiatives may include vendor model integrations and updates to modeling systems, often involving large datasets and infrastructure considerations.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong, hands-on project management fundamentals (status reporting, risk management, stakeholder communication).
Experience in technical / application development projects; Agile or iterative delivery experience is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently with minimal hand-holding in a large, structured organization.
Comfortable navigating regulated or process-heavy environments.
Insurance or P&C background is helpful but not required; strong PM and technical experience is prioritized.
PMP certification is not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated.
Experience Level
Ideally 10–15 years of experience, though strong candidates with fewer years but proven ability to manage complex, multi-stream projects will be considered.
Emphasis on maturity, judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Location & Work Arrangement
Preferred: Local to Sun Prairie, WI, with hybrid expectations (typically 2 days onsite; more during initial onboarding).
Remote: Considered if the right candidate is found, preferably within the Central or compatible time zones.
Limited to no travel anticipated.
Contract Details
Contract-only role (not contract-to-hire at this time).
Expected to run through 2026, with potential extension depending on project funding and roadmap.
Target bill rate: ~$110/hour.
Interview process: 1–2 interviews, moving quickly once the right candidate is identified.
Summary

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
