Description
We are looking for a Program Manager to join the World Wide Grocery Data Operations Item Team. Data Operations Program Managers own key programs and projects to drive critical data operations inputs for World Wide Grocery items and offers data management. Program Managers lead program definition and execution of key data operations workstreams in partnership with merchandising, store operations, finance, tax, and technology teams.
Owns key programs and projects to drive critical data operations for Whole Foods Market with emphasis on Item and Offer processing, and deployment of emerging data management programs. Drives programmatic improvements and best-in-class data quality and operational excellence. Leads program definition and execution in partnership with Merchants, store operations, supply chain, finance, tax, and technology. Monitors data operations industry trends and AI-driven automation opportunities, providing thought leadership and innovation to drive the evolution of data management at Whole Foods Market and Amazon Grocery.
Key job responsibilities
• Executes assigned data operations programs and projects across Item and Offer management, to ensure stores have what they need to execute the Merchants’ plan for each category and the customer experience is as seamless as possible.
• Identifies and recommends optimizations for program execution based on data quality analysis, stakeholder feedback, and assessment of operational results
• Develops program-specific tactics and goals to achieve data accuracy, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement objectives
• Leads execution of programs, including:
- Managing timelines and cross-functional dependencies
- Program status communication to leaders and stakeholders
• Develops and maintains weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics
• Identifies reporting requirements and ensures access to program-related data and metrics
• Partners with analytics teams to assess dashboards and identify key performance insights
• Maintains awareness of data operations trends, AI automation opportunities, and best practices
• Provides coaching and mentoring for team members across operational domains
• Serves as a resource on data management capabilities, hierarchy structures, and taxonomy standards
• Designs and implements training programs for new processes and tools
• Establishes escalation protocols and incident management procedures

• Understands Whole Foods Market data architecture, hierarchy structures, and downstream system dependencies
• Ability to solve problems at a systemic rather than transactional level
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of program or project management experience, or Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- Knowledge of SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Genuine interest in using tools like AI to improve all processes, workflows, data capture and insights

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
