We are seeking an experienced and technically adept Product Manager to lead the product strategy and roadmap for our 3S (Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Battery Management Systems (BMS) & Energy Management Systems (EMS)) portfolio targeting the North America market. This role requires technical leadership, project execution experience as well as commercial considerations.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the PCS product roadmap for the North America market, aligning with regional regulatory standards (UL, IEEE, NEC, NERC, ANSI) and utility interconnection requirements (IEEE 1547, Rule 21)
- Define system-level requirements for BESS applications including peak shaving, frequency regulation, black start, and capacity firming in collaboration with system integrators and EPCs
- Engage with IRA, DOE incentive programs, and FEOC implications to shape product strategy that maximizes customer eligibility and commercial advantage
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer discovery to identify product gaps and growth opportunities in utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and microgrid segments
- Collaborate with R&D, hardware engineering, and firmware teams to translate customer requirements into detailed product specifications (power ratings, efficiency curves, grid-forming capabilities, protection schemes)
- Drive the full product lifecycle from concept through launch, including go-to-market planning, pricing strategy, and sales enablement
- Manage product positioning against North American competitors
- Define EMS roadmap for C&I and utility grade applications for North America market
- Define integration requirements for EMS-to-PCS communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, SunSpec, OCPP) and cloud platform APIs.
- Partner with the data and analytics team to build product features that enable customers to maximize ROI via automated dispatch, demand response, and wholesale market participation.
- Engage with system integrators, EPCs, and fleet operators to understand EMS usability, reporting, and remote monitoring need.
- Develop product strategies for grid-edge applications including virtual power plants (VPP), distributed energy resource management (DERM), and grid-forming inverter deployments.
- Track evolving interconnection standards, utility tariff structures, and capacity market rules (PJM, CAISO, MISO, ERCOT) to identify product development priorities.
- Collaborate with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and grid operators to understand evolving grid service requirements and shape product capabilities accordingly.
- Support development of advanced grid services features: synthetic inertia,voltage/VAR support, droop control, and islanding/resynchronization functionality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in energy storage, power systems, EV, or industrial equipment.
- Deep technical understanding of power conversion topologies (three-phase, bidirectional), grid interconnection requirements, and relevant North American standards (IEEE 1547, UL 1741, NEC Article 705).
- Demonstrated experience managing product roadmaps and launching products in the utility-scale or C&I energy storage/solar-plus-storage market.
- Familiarity with BESS system architecture including BMS hierarchy, DC/AC coupling configurations, and safety certifications (UL 9540, NFPA 855).
- Understanding of EMS/SCADA architectures and industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, IEC 61850, MQTT).
- Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize market intelligence, financial data, and customer insights into actionable product decisions.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, and executive stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent technical content to non-technical audiences and present to senior leadership.
