Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a compassionate and highly dependable Residential Program Counselor to join our Neurocognitive (TBI) Program team. In this therapeutic residential setting, you will support individuals with neurocognitive disorders in their day-to-day functioning, providing both behavioral support and guidance in daily living activities.

You’ll play a critical role in maintaining a structured, respectful environment while helping clients build and sustain the skills needed for greater independence and quality of life.

What You’ll Do:

Maintain a therapeutic, structured environment aligned with client treatment goals
n n - n
Assist in implementing and monitoring client rehabilitation programs for cognitive and physical needs
n n - n
Model and coach independent living skills such as hygiene, socialization, budgeting, and time management
n n - n
Supervise and document medication administration and maintain shift logs
n n - n
Respond to crisis situations with appropriate interventions and document incident reports
n n - n
Facilitate outings, activities, and program participation per the program calendar
n n - n
Conduct safety drills, facility rounds, and room inspections to ensure cleanliness and security
n n - n
Monitor visitor activity and maintain facility safety documentation
n n - n
Support and attend required team meetings, supervision, and training
n n - n
Adhere to schedule reliability, dress code, and professional conduct policies
n n

What You Need:

High school diploma or equivalent
n n - n
At least 2 years of practical experience working with individuals with neurocognitive disorders
n n - n
Experience supporting individuals with both cognitive and physical impairments
n n - n
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism
n n - n
Basic computer skills and documentation proficiency
n n - n
Must obtain AACBIS certification (within 18 months of hire) and maintain it annually
n n - n
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driver standards
n n - n
Ability to work in a fast-paced, structured environment, including evenings and weekends as required
n n
