Shift Leader – Residential Program Counselor

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and organized Shift Leader to support our community-based residential program for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.

In this role, you’ll be on the front lines of support—leading daily operations during your shift, mentoring residents, supporting clinical service plans, and ensuring the facility remains safe, welcoming, and recovery-focused.

What You’ll Do:

Provide daily support and structure in a therapeutic group home setting
n n - n
Lead shift operations, mentor staff, and monitor safety and facility conditions
n n - n
Guide residents through orientation, recovery planning, and independent living goals
n n - n
Facilitate 1-on-1 and group sessions to support personal development
n n - n
Coordinate meals, meds, outings, appointments, and safety procedures
n n - n
Respond to crisis situations with skill and calm
n n
n
What You Need:

- n
High school diploma or GED required
n n - n
3+ years in human services and 6 months with VOA preferred
n n - n
Experience working with mental health populations
n n - n
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to de-escalate conflict
n n - n
Valid driver’s license & ability to meet VOA driving standards
n n
