Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs Project Manager to lead enterprise technology and business initiatives supporting Medical Affairs within a global pharmaceutical organization. This role will act as the primary liaison between Medical Affairs leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and delivery partners to ensure successful execution of strategic projects.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with deep knowledge of Pharmaceutical Medical Affairs , enabling seamless delivery of business transformation and technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Medical Affairs technology and business projects.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and governance frameworks.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Medical Affairs, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Partner with Medical Information, Medical Communications, Publications, Medical Education, and Field Medical teams to gather requirements and drive execution.
- Facilitate project planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, status reviews, and executive reporting.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, compliance requirements, and technology solutions.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across Medical Affairs initiatives.
- Manage project scope, dependencies, change requests, and stakeholder expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 12 16 years of overall IT and Business Project Management experience.
- 8+ years managing enterprise application or business transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of Pharmaceutical Medical Affairs operations.
- Experience supporting one or more of the following:
- Medical Information
- Medical Communications
- Medical Education
- Scientific Publications
- Field Medical Operations
- Knowledge of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) activities and scientific engagement processes.
- Familiarity with medical content review and approval workflows.
- Understanding of Medical Affairs compliance and governance requirements.
- Proven experience managing global cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong expertise in project planning, governance, budgeting, risk management, dependency management, and executive reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medical Information platforms and inquiry management systems.
- Knowledge of Scientific Communications and Publications processes.
- Familiarity with MSL engagement platforms and Field Medical capabilities.
- Experience delivering digital transformation initiatives within Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical organizations.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.
