Job Summary
DPR Construction is seeking a Telecom Project Manager with a minimum of 7 years of telecommunications or commercial construction experience to join our data center division. The role focuses on data center telecommunications infrastructure, including structured cabling, fiber optics, outside plant (OSP) deployments, and low‑voltage systems. The Project Manager will collaborate with clients, project teams, executives, regional leadership, and subcontractors to deliver mission‑critical projects on schedule, within budget, and to client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Subcontractor Management: oversee subcontractors, ensure compliance with safety, quality, and scheduling standards, and hold them accountable to project goals.
- Project Execution and Workflow: manage the full project lifecycle from kickoff to production turnover, ensuring timely installations of telecommunications infrastructure.
- Cost and Financial Management: collaborate with project controls to oversee cost control, billings, collections, change orders, cash flows, and provide periodic financial reporting.
- Client Interface: act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction through the project lifecycle.
- Quality Assurance: oversee that all quality standards are met in collaboration with the quality team, ensuring compliance with specifications, local codes, and project requirements.
- Project Planning and Scheduling: coordinate and manage planning and scheduling, working closely with subcontractors to establish and track milestones, and mitigate risks and issues.
- Bid and Procurement Support: participate in the bid process, assist with subcontractor selection, and ensure timely delivery and integration of materials and services.
- Process Improvement: develop and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency, especially in data center workflows such as cabling, network integration, and material logistics.
- Technical Oversight: demonstrate detailed knowledge of telecommunications systems, develop solutions for scope-gap or clash issues, and support design reviews.
- Safety Leadership: assist the safety team to ensure subcontractors comply with regulations and promote a safety‑first culture.
- Cross‑Functional Coordination: collaborate with logistics partners, vendors, and suppliers to ensure a smooth flow of materials, and support technical reviews with design and engineering teams.
- Other Responsibilities: perform additional duties as assigned to support project and company objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience: minimum 7 years in telecommunications or commercial construction project management, preferably with data center infrastructure; at least 5 years in a supervisory role overseeing subcontractors.
- Education: high school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in construction management, telecommunications, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: high proficiency in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and project documents; familiarity with telecom tools and testing equipment; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management/scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6). Knowledge of accounting cost management software is a plus.
- Leadership: proven ability to manage subcontractors, foster team morale, and promote culture and mission.
- Communication: excellent listening, verbal, and written skills with experience engaging stakeholders.
- Problem‑Solving: strong critical thinking to resolve complex issues, including scope clarification and technical challenges.
- Organization: ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and deliver projects to completion and client turnover.
- Driving & Credit Card: meet minimum driving standards and maintain company‑sponsored American Express card.
- Work Ethic: self‑motivated, professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and a can‑do attitude.
- Preferred: experience reviewing installations against design documents; experience in quality assurance, data center development, and fiber optic testing at scale.

- The Telecom Project Manager reports to the site Senior Project Manager and works closely with cross‑functional teams and subcontractors.
