Project Manager – Protection and Automation

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Electrification and Automation (EA) and Protection and Automation (P&A) team in Wendell, NC. The position is hybrid, with an expectation of 2–3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

Lead projects from initiation through closeout in a dynamic, matrix‑style organization.
Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion.
Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of assigned project(s).
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Lead and drive multi‑disciplinary and cross‑functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics and services.
Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status.
Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
Manage customer expectations across project cycle and lead single and multi‑product medium voltage solutions projects.
Direct diagnostics with ability to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
3+ years hands‑on project management experience, including contract management and P&L responsibility.
Expertise with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to travel up to 20 % (domestic and international).
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree or training in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Experience in the power distribution industry managing medium voltage portfolios.
PMP certification.
Basic knowledge of power distribution and ability to read and understand electrical drawings and customer specifications.
Experience identifying and implementing cost‑saving measures within projects.
Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex issues to multi‑level audiences.
Ability to interpret and report results to senior management and customers.
Demonstrated ability in contract and change management.
