Civil Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead land development and civil engineering projects from proposal through construction. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, technical expertise in site development, and the ability to build lasting client relationships while managing multiple projects, budgets, and schedules.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use development projects in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil engineering projects from proposal, design, permitting, and construction through project completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships.
- Prepare project proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and project budgets.
- Coordinate project teams, including engineers, designers, surveyors, and permitting personnel.
- Oversee the preparation of construction plans for land development projects.
- Review engineering plans, calculations, reports, and specifications for quality and accuracy.
- Coordinate with municipalities, utility providers, and regulatory agencies throughout the permitting process.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Attend client meetings, project coordination meetings, and public hearings as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Support business development efforts by maintaining client relationships and assisting with new project opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience managing civil engineering or land development projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Site development
- Grading
- Drainage
- Stormwater management
- Utility design
- Erosion and sediment control
- Permitting processes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
- Experience coordinating with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- PE License.
- Experience with commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong client management and project leadership experience.
