Responsibilities:
- Design repairs for existing enclosure systems.
- Review enclosure systems for new construction, renovation, and restoration projects.
- Investigate and determine the service life of building enclosure assemblies.
- Assess air infiltration, rainwater control, heat transfer, and vapor transmission through enclosure reviews.
- Perform building performance analysis, including daylighting, solar heat gain, thermal energy transfer, and integration with mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems.
Requirements include a technical background, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in CADD and building performance modeling software.
Specific job responsibilities:
- Lead projects with internal teams.
- Assist Senior Project Managers.
- Manage projects and facilitate client meetings.
- Prepare technical presentations and proposals.
- Review enclosure details and specifications.
- Collaborate with architects and contractors.
- Research building codes and standards.
- Write assessment reports.
- Conduct field investigations and perform modeling of enclosure assemblies.
- Design and draft repair details and drawings.
- Prepare construction documents and observe repairs in the field.
- Interact with clients and contractors.
Qualifications:
- 3-10+ years in building enclosure design, review, and assessment.
- PE or RA certification.
- Advanced degrees in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Architecture.
- Experience with waterproofing, roofing, and building science.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper.
- Experience with building performance software like ENERGYPLUS, EQUEST, etc.
- Expertise in exterior wall systems and roofing assemblies.
- Familiarity with structural systems and working at heights.
