About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Construction Project Manager to lead a challenging new build development in Cardiff, Wales, UK . This senior position requires a strategic thinker with a proven history of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and control of the project from conception to completion, ensuring all stakeholders are satisfied and project objectives are met. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Manage and oversee all site operations, including subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress against the plan, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
- Manage project finances, including cost control, cash flow forecasting, and contract administration.
- Liaise effectively with clients, design teams, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project review meetings to report on progress, performance, and challenges.
- Implement quality assurance and control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and motivate the project team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Oversee the successful handover of the completed project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in construction project management, with a strong portfolio of delivered projects.
- Expert knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and BIM understanding.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and challenging project schedules.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Experience in the Cardiff or wider South Wales construction market is highly advantageous.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, MAPM) are preferred.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent.
