About the Role
Our client, a highly respected developer and contractor, is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead high-profile projects from conception through to completion in
Cardiff . This critical role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for all facets of project management, including planning, procurement, execution, and close-out, while fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and site teams. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of construction projects, from initial planning and budgeting to final handover.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, identifying critical path activities and potential risks.
- Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring cost control and financial reporting accuracy.
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, including site staff, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.
- Procure materials, equipment, and services in line with project requirements and company policies.
- Monitor project progress, quality, and performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Liaise proactively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, maintaining clear communication channels.
- Manage contractual obligations and administer contracts efficiently.
- Conduct regular site visits and project reviews to ensure objectives are met.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management, with a demonstrable portfolio of successfully delivered projects.
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding £10 million.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and standard office applications.
- Strong understanding of contract administration and procurement processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Membership in a professional body such as RICS or CIOB is highly desirable.
