About the Role
Our client, a highly respected construction and development firm operating in
Portsmouth, Hampshire , is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of high-profile building projects. This role is critical to ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for managing all phases of the construction lifecycle, from initial planning and design through to completion and handover. This position requires a strong leader with excellent stakeholder management skills and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of construction projects, ensuring successful delivery within defined scope, time, and budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee site operations, including coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and quality standards on all project sites.
- Manage client relationships, providing regular progress updates and addressing concerns promptly.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Review and approve project-related documentation, including contracts, change orders, and permits.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment.
- Ensure successful project close-out and handover to clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and risk effectively.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and quality.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Portsmouth area.
