About the Role
Our client, a leading developer and contractor in the
construction industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join their team in
Glasgow, Scotland, UK . This role involves the full lifecycle management of construction projects, from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hybrid role, requiring presence on-site and in the project office, offering a balanced approach to work. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing complex projects, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage diverse project teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects from start to finish.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets effectively.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all sites.
- Manage project risks, identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including site staff, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
- Approve project milestones and manage variations and claims.
- Ensure project quality standards are consistently met.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports for senior management and clients.
Requirements
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management within the construction sector.
- Proven experience managing projects in the range of £10M - £50M.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulations.
- Excellent understanding of project management software and tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in risk management and contract administration.
- SMSTS certification and First Aid qualification are required.
- Full UK driving license is essential.
