About the Role
Our client, a global leader in renewable energy development, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Offshore Wind Farm Project Manager to oversee key projects from their base in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This is a leadership position responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale offshore wind farm developments, managing all phases from site selection and consenting through to construction and commissioning. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle for offshore wind farm developments, from feasibility studies to commercial operation.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring rigorous progress tracking and reporting.
- Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, environmental specialists, and construction managers.
- Manage all aspects of stakeholder engagement, including regulatory bodies, local communities, and supply chain partners.
- Oversee the procurement process for key project components and services, including turbines, foundations, and installation contracts.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards throughout all project phases.
- Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Oversee the consenting and permitting processes, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project contracts and financial performance, ensuring projects remain within budget.
- Liaise with technical experts to ensure the optimal design and engineering of wind farm assets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the energy sector, with at least 5 years specifically focused on offshore wind farm development.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-million-pound offshore wind projects.
- In-depth knowledge of offshore wind technology, including turbine technology, foundation design, subsea cables, and installation methodologies.
- Strong understanding of the offshore consenting process, environmental regulations, and grid connection requirements in the UK.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large, diverse project teams and complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and financial management skills.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and HSEQ best practices.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
