About the Role
Our client, a rapidly growing aerospace solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Aerospace Project Manager to oversee key projects from initiation to completion in their Southampton, Hampshire, UK office. This is a pivotal role that requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the aerospace industry. You will be responsible for managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful delivery of complex aerospace components and systems. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and client teams to achieve project objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of aerospace projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and closure.
- Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management with internal teams and external clients.
- Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial objectives are met.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned for future projects.
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management within the aerospace or defence industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex engineering projects with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, JIRA).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in a hybrid work environment and ability to adapt to changing work modalities.
- Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance methodologies.
