About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Upstream Project Manager to lead significant projects within the oil and gas industry , based in Bristol . This role demands strong leadership and strategic planning skills to manage complex upstream exploration, development, and production projects from conception through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This position offers a dynamic hybrid work model, combining essential on-site presence with the flexibility of remote work, allowing for effective project oversight and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of upstream oil and gas projects .
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Oversee risk management, stakeholder engagement, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and other third-party service providers.
- Provide regular project status reports and performance updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the upstream oil and gas sector .
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex E&P projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2).
- Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil) or a related field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
