About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Project Manager with a strong background in engineering projects to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is instrumental in overseeing the successful delivery of complex engineering initiatives, from initial concept and design through to implementation and handover. You will be responsible for managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are met. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of complex engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including designers, engineers, and technicians.
- Ensure strict adherence to engineering standards, quality control procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners, providing regular progress updates.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-control measures as needed.
Requirements
- Significant experience (7+ years) as a Project Manager , specifically within the engineering sector.
- Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and project lifecycle management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- A relevant engineering degree or professional qualification is highly desirable.
