Senior Project Manager, Cybersecurity — Northbrook, IL, Hybrid (3 Days), Long-Term Contract
A large enterprise organization needs a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery on cybersecurity projects with real teeth: application controls and identity and access management.
This is a September 2026 through September 2027 contract, an ACTIVE HOT priority need, and it's the kind of role where the person who's actually run IAM and application control projects, not just managed generic IT initiatives, will stand out immediately.
What you'll do:
- Manage implementation and delivery of small to medium-sized cybersecurity projects
- Serve as primary contact for project issues, risks, and escalations
- Develop and oversee project plans across the full lifecycle, including budgets, dependencies, and resources
- Partner with IT teams on cybersecurity solution planning and implementation
- Interface with business unit leaders and Finance to develop ROI, IRR, and other financial measures
- Manage stakeholder communications, sponsor reporting, and executive-level escalations
What you bring:
- 4+ years of project management experience
- Demonstrated experience leading IT or cybersecurity projects
- Direct experience managing projects involving application controls and identity and access controls
- Experience with project and business tools: Visio, Microsoft Project, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI
- Strong grasp of governance, risk management, budgeting, and resource coordination
- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or iterative delivery methodologies
- Ability to translate technical cybersecurity concepts for non-technical, executive audiences
Nice to have:
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or another recognized project management certification
