IT Project Manager
Location: Birmingham, Alabama (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to manage multiple IT implementation and system integration projects. This role involves overseeing the implementation of Epic, a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) and revenue cycle management system. The position ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives by coordinating with various stakeholders, including clinical and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
- Handle contract renegotiations and reassignments for applications moving to new service providers or cloud-based solutions, ensuring proper data migration and continuity.
- Coordinate integration efforts for applications that need to remain in place but integrate with the new Epic system.
- Communicate and manage change with business stakeholders, ensuring they understand the impacts and costs associated with transitions.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project status and performance.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of three years of proven project management experience, preferably in a healthcare or IT setting. Must have experience managing larger, complex projects, specifically with Revenue Cycle Operations (RCO) and clinical healthcare applications.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is required. Experience with clinical-related applications is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic implementations.
- A degree is preferred, as it is a requirement for potential full-time conversion.
- PMP or a similar project management certification is a plus.
