Overview In this role, you join a growing Environmental Project Management team to deliver multi-disciplinary environmental projects across the UK. You’ll support both small and larger programmes, working with Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads to keep initiatives safe, on track, and within budget. You’ll mentor colleagues and help shape the Environmental Project Management capability while contributing to nationally significant projects. The role offers cross-functional collaboration, learning, and a clear path toward a Senior Environmental Project Manager position.

Responsibilities - Develop project proposals defining scope, resources, programme, and budget for delivery
- Create and maintain structured project documents (plans, cost forecasts, risk registers, schedules) and support smaller projects independently
- Monitor progress to ensure delivery against timelines
- Manage day-to-day project costs, budgets, forecasts, and spend
- Ensure health and safety requirements for site visits are met
- Support contract management and administration to keep projects compliant
- Proactively manage change and risk with technical teams to align with scope and governance
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with partners and suppliers
- Champion environmental outcomes and progress sustainability and net zero ambitions in projects
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders as a trusted contact for the Environment and Consents team
Key requirements - Experience as Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager in project/PMO within environmental or sustainability sectors
- Understanding of programme management principles and tools (WSB/critical path) and ability to interpret MS Project, Primavera P6 outputs
- Commercial awareness with budget management and change control experience
- Familiarity with Professional Services Contracts (e.g. NEC3/4) advantageous
- Confident written and verbal communicator, capable of keeping teams and stakeholders well informed
- Working toward or holding membership of a professional body (e.g. PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS)
- Interest in environment/sustainable land development and a proactive career mindset
