Overview As a Project Manager, you will lead discrete project packages within electrical and energy infrastructure, delivering on client objectives and governance while aligning design, safety, and environmental standards. You will work with multi‑disciplinary teams and maintain autonomy with access to wider technical and commercial expertise. The role focuses on programme delivery, NEC contract administration, and proactive risk management to keep projects on track. Responsibilities - Lead NEC contract administration (Options A, C, E), managing change control, early warnings, compensation events, and contractor performance
- Oversee design development and technical approvals, coordinating engineering inputs and ensuring alignment with project specifications and electrical infrastructure standards
- Manage construction delivery, ensuring adherence to programme, quality, safety, environmental requirements, and client governance processes
- Drive programme performance, proactively identifying risks, implementing mitigations, and ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Lead stakeholder engagement, maintaining strong relationships across engineering, commercial, environmental, consenting, contractor, and client teams
- Prepare and deliver reporting, including progress updates, dashboards, risk summaries, and commercial/contractual status reports
- Coordinate technical interfaces with electrical engineering and system planning teams across HV/LV, OHL, UGC, and substation disciplines
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, processes, permits, and approvals throughout design and construction phases
Key requirements - Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering, project management, or construction discipline
- Working toward a professional qualification (APM, ICE, IET, MCIOB, etc.)
- Able to manage multiple workstreams independently in a structured, safety‑critical environment
- Confident in NEC processes, contract management, and client‑side governance
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Eligible to obtain BPSS security clearance
- Project management experience in infrastructure, energy, or utilities is desirable
- Proven delivery on electrical or energy‑related infrastructure (OHL, substations, UGC, grid connections, renewables) desirable
