Cityworx are recruiting an experienced Regional Manager with a strong background in Extra Care to lead a significant operational transition involving the TUPE transfer of nine Extra Care Schemes from an outgoing provider into the portfolio of an established care organisation.
This is a high-profile, operationally focused role requiring an experienced senior manager who can take ownership of the transition, provide stability throughout the process and ensure the schemes are successfully integrated into the organisation.
The successful candidate will need a detailed understanding of Extra Care and independent living, together with strong senior management, change management & project management experience.
This is not simply a project coordination role. You will be required to provide strong operational leadership, manage complex stakeholder relationships and address the practical challenges associated with transferring multiple services and teams from one provider to another.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational transition of a number of Extra Care Schemes into the organisation.
- Take responsibility for the effective management of the TUPE transfer process from an operational perspective.
- Provide visible and experienced leadership throughout the 12–18 month transition.
- Work closely with senior management, operational teams and key stakeholders to ensure a coordinated transfer.
- Support the integration of services, people, processes and operational requirements.
- Identify and manage operational risks and challenges arising during the transition.
- Develop and monitor transition plans, priorities, milestones and deliverables.
- Ensure Extra Care services remain focused on high-quality care, independence, dignity, choice and control.
- Maintain strong relationships with residents, families, staff and relevant stakeholders where required.
- Work collaboratively with HR and other specialist functions throughout the TUPE process.
- Provide effective change management and support teams through organisational transition.
- Monitor service performance and identify areas requiring intervention or additional support.
- Ensure operational issues are identified quickly and addressed effectively.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, challenges and outcomes.
- Ensure the successful transition and integration of the schemes into the organisation's operating model.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will be an experienced Regional Manager, Operations Manager, Senior Manager or Project/Change Manager with substantial experience within Extra Care.
You will ideally have:
- Detailed knowledge and practical experience of Extra Care and independent living.
- Strong senior operational management experience within health, social care or a related regulated environment.
- Proven experience managing complex change and organisational transitions.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience managing significant operational challenges and competing priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to work confidently with senior leadership teams and operational colleagues.
- A structured, analytical and solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to provide calm, visible and credible leadership during periods of change.
- A genuine commitment to the principles of independent living and person-centred Extra Care.
The Contract
This is a 12–18 month fixed-term contract with an immediate start.
The role will suit an experienced Extra Care professional who enjoys managing complex operational change and wants to take ownership of a significant transition programme.
