Overview In this role you will manage a portfolio of infrastructure projects within a banking technology environment, driving service improvements and operational resilience. You will work across network, platform, storage and data centre domains, coordinating delivery with technical SMEs and stakeholders. The position focuses on stability, risk mitigation, and cost optimisation, delivering impactful infrastructure updates and service enhancements. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity with a strong emphasis on governance and independent delivery in a complex BAU setting.
Responsibilities - Manage delivery of infrastructure projects across network, platform, storage and data centre environments
- Drive continuous service improvements across infrastructure and service operations
- Coordinate remediation of infrastructure risks and end-of-life/operational resilience concerns
- Support platform upgrades, new functionality, improved customer services and cost optimisation
- Oversee technical delivery activities (builds, deployments, device rollouts, service enhancements)
- Establish project governance, plans, milestones, dependencies and reporting
- Collaborate with technical SMEs, Product Owners and Service Management to meet commitments
- Manage stakeholder expectations and progress within BAU
- Support the delivery of a structured risk mitigation model for infrastructure and service risks
Key requirements - Around 10 years’ Project Management experience in complex IT or financial services environments
- Strong infrastructure background (networks, platforms, storage, data centres, or infrastructure service operations)
- Proven track record delivering technical infrastructure projects and service improvements
- Experience in portfolio, programme or project delivery environment
- Strong governance, planning, reporting, risk management and delivery control
- Good understanding of IT Service Management and service operations
- Experience with ServiceNow, ITM, infrastructure build/deploy, platform upgrades
- Structured, waterfall project delivery experience
- Excellent stakeholder management and credibility with technical SMEs
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and executives clearly
