Overview

In this role you will lead and deliver energy projects within Arup’s multidisciplinary Energy Advisory team, shaping UK energy system outcomes through end-to-end programme management and trusted client advisory. You’ll work across feasibility, consenting, procurement, construction and handover, ensuring quality, commercial performance and strong client experience. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, you’ll drive strategic options, business cases and new service propositions. This is a chance to contribute to a low-carbon transition at scale and grow our energy advisory capability.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of energy projects and major workstreams
Own client relationships and align deliverables with wider priorities
Shape strategy and decision-making via option appraisals and business cases
Manage complex stakeholder interfaces (clients, regulators, technical advisers, contractors)
Lead bid sections and proposals; help shape new services and propositions
Ensure scope, programme, fee, quality and risk are well managed; oversee major capital projects from feasibility to handover
Develop and support others, including line management when applicable
Utilise digital and AI tools to enhance delivery for clients

Key requirements

Experience in consulting or project delivery within energy, infrastructure or related sectors with a track record of leading projects to time, budget and quality
Degree in a relevant subject and Chartered or working towards it (APM, ICE, IMechE, IET, RICS, CIOB, CMI, Energy Institute or equivalent)
Sound judgement, client confidence and curiosity to improve ways of working
Ability to develop and support others, including potential line management experience
Confident use of digital and AI tools to improve delivery
