Senior Telecom Project Manager (IP & Transport Required)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Telecom Project Manager with strong IP and Transport network expertise to lead and deliver large‑scale technical initiatives within a fast‑paced telecom environment. This role involves driving network optimization, decommissioning, and cost‑saving projects across multiple engineering and operations groups.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing complex, cross‑functional projects with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage telecom network initiatives, including cabinet/cage consolidations, site exits, and leased fiber reductions.
- Define and maintain project scope, schedules, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Testing, Planning, and Deployment teams to ensure readiness and completion.
- Manage resource planning from project intake through implementation.
- Provide reporting, documentation, and metrics from internal systems and databases.
- Identify risks early and proactively adjust plans or escalate as needed.
- Utilize deep technical knowledge of IP and Transport systems to support project success.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong IP and Transport network experience (required).
- Hands‑on understanding of SONET, DWDM, optical networking, or related technologies.
- Experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously.
- Strong data analysis skills, including forecasting and reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification (preferred but not required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
- Background as a network technician or engineer (highly desirable).
- Experience working in fast‑moving environments with shifting priorities.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Self‑driven, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple technical teams.
- Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
