About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project / Program Manager to lead large-scale ERP implementations and business transformation initiatives. This role will serve as a key delivery leader responsible for guiding the end-to-end execution of complex ERP programs across a variety of clients and industries.
This is a high-visibility role that requires strong delivery discipline, executive communication skills, and the ability to bring structure, accountability, and momentum to a complex transformation.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Theinitialengagement will be structured as a contract role, with the potential to convert to a full-time employee position based on business need, performance, budget approval, and mutual fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of ERP implementations, including planning, design, build, test, deploy, and stabilization phases.
- Develop and manage the integrated project plan, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and critical path.
- Ensure the program is delivered against agreed scope, timeline, budget, quality, and business readiness expectations.
- Coordinate across ERP functional workstreams, technical teams, business stakeholders, system integrators, and third-party vendors.
- Drive issue resolution, decision-making, and escalation processes to keep the program moving forward.
Governance, Reporting & Executive Communication
- Establish andmaintainprogram governance, including meeting cadence, decision forums, status reporting, RAID management, and stage-gate controls.
- Prepare executive-ready status updates, steering committee materials, key decision documents, and risk summaries.
- Provide clear visibility into program health, including progress against milestones, major risks, dependencies, budget impacts, and readiness concerns.
- Facilitate leadership discussions, working sessions, and cross-functional alignment meetings.
- Ensure decisions, actions, and ownership are clearly documented and followed through to completion.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with business and IT leaders across functions such as Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Master Data.
- Coordinate upstream and downstream impacts across business processes, systems, integrations, and data flows.
- Help workstream leadstranslatebusinessobjectivesinto actionable plans, deliverables, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure clear ownership across internal teams, external partners, and business stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, from project team members to executive sponsors.
Testing, Data, Cutover & Go-Live Readiness
- Coordinate testing activities across SIT, UAT, regression testing, integration testing, and business process validation.
- Track testing progress, defects, issue resolution, business participation, and readiness risks.
- Partner with data, technical, and functional teams to support data conversion planning, mock loads, validation, and cutover readiness.
- Lead or support cutover planning, including task sequencing, ownership, timing, dependencies, contingency planning, and go/no-go readiness.
- Coordinatehypercareplanning and post-go-live stabilization activities, includingissuetriage, reporting, and transition to steady-state support.
- Proactivelyidentifyrisks, issues, bottlenecks, and cross-workstream dependencies.
- Maintain a disciplined RAID process with clear owners, due dates, mitigation plans, and escalation paths.
- Anticipate areas of delivery risk, including data migration,integrationreadiness, testing delays, business adoption, resource constraints, and cutover complexity.
- Drivetimelyresolution of issues whilemaintainingmomentum across teams.
- Escalate appropriately while bringing recommended options and trade-offs to leadership.
Change Management & Business Readiness
- Partner with change management, training, and business readiness teams to support adoption of the ERP solution.
- Ensure business users are prepared for process, role, and system changes.
- Support readiness tracking across training, communications, role mapping, process ownership, and site or function-level adoption.
- Help reinforce standard ERP processes and minimize unnecessary customization whereappropriate.
- Support the transition from project delivery to ongoing business operations.
Consulting Firm & Internal Delivery Support
- Represent the firm professionally in a client-facing capacity, building trust with client stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and executive sponsors.
- Supportadditionalinternal or client-facing projects as needed, including smaller process improvement, PMO, reporting, documentation, tool setup, or operational initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of reusable project management templates,deliveryplaybooks, governance materials, status reporting formats, and best practices.
- Assistwith internal firm priorities when capacity allows, including business development support, proposal inputs, project estimates, resource planning, and lessons learned.
- Operate with a consulting mindset, bringing structure, flexibility, professionalism, and a high standard of client service across both large transformation programs and smaller firm initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of project or program management experience, withdemonstratedsuccess leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Prior experienceleadingat least one ERP implementation isrequired.
- Experience leading or supporting ERP implementations is required. Experience with platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Infor, NetSuite, Workday, Epicor, or similar ERP solutions is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing large-scale programs with multiple workstreams, stakeholders, vendors, and business functions.
- Strong understanding of ERP project lifecycle phases, including design, build, test, data conversion, cutover, go-live, andhypercare.
- Proven ability to manage scope, timelines, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and executive reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Experience working with system integrators, software vendors, and third-party implementation partners.
- Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or fast-moving environments.
- Strong communicationskills, including the ability to create executive-ready materials and lead leadership discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, ora relatedfield.
Preferred Qualifications
- Consulting experience, especially in ERP, technology transformation, or business transformation environments.
- PMP, Scrum Master, ERP platform certifications, or related project management credentials.
- Experience with one or more major ERP platforms, such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Infor, NetSuite, Workday, Epicor, or similar enterprise solutions.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, finance, or other complex operational environments.
- Experience with tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow PPM, ERP implementation management tools, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting merger, acquisition, carve-out, TSA exit, or ERP consolidation initiatives.
- Experience with process standardization, change management, value realization, and business transformation.
