Project Manager – Public Sector
Central London and Nationwide travel required
We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading Tier 1 contractor, delivering complex projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong background in public-sector construction, who has experience delivering projects valued at £8m+ and is comfortable working within highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Take overall responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality, health & safety and client relationships.
- Manage project teams, subcontractors, consultants and supply-chain partners.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are delivered.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with company procedures and relevant legislation.
- Provide effective leadership across the project team and drive a strong health & safety culture.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across complex public-sector environments.
- Travel nationwide as required depending on project requirements.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager with a Tier 1 main contractor.
- Experience delivering £8m+ construction projects.
- Strong public-sector project experience is essential.
- Experience across one or more of the following sectors:
- DfE / Education
- MoJ / Justice
- MoD / Defence
- Healthcare / NHS
- Strong understanding of NEC and/or other relevant forms of contract.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex project environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide.
