About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Prepare tender documents, analyze bids, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project expenditure, identify potential cost overruns, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and manage variations and claims.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to commercial plans.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports, including progress, costs, and potential risks.
- Manage the payment process, including valuations and final accounts.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial management within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Proficiency in cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience in managing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Familiarity with relevant construction regulations and health & safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
