About the Role
Our client, a prominent developer of renewable energy projects, is seeking a skilled and results-oriented Renewable Energy Project Manager to join their team. This hybrid role, based in Brighton, East Sussex , will involve overseeing the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from initial feasibility and planning through to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while managing stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams effectively. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project management within the energy sector and a passion for sustainable development. This is a key role in driving the transition to clean energy in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of renewable energy projects, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Ensure projects comply with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, landowners, local authorities, and supply chain partners.
- Oversee the selection and management of engineering consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular site visits and project reviews.
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and project steering committees.
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution processes.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management, specifically within the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, or energy storage).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, project finance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams in a hybrid work environment.
- Experience with contract management and procurement processes.
- Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Based in or able to commute regularly to Brighton .
