About the Role
Our client, a key player in the development of sustainable energy infrastructure, is seeking an experienced Energy Project Manager to oversee diverse projects across the **Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK** region. This role is central to delivering complex energy projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for managing project scope, budget, timelines, resources, and risks, ensuring successful project completion while adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of energy projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate and lead project teams, including engineers, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement processes, tender evaluations, and contract negotiations with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
- Manage client and stakeholder communications, providing regular progress reports and updates.
- Conduct post-project reviews and identify lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in project management, specifically within the energy, utilities, or construction industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies is a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the **UK**.
