About the Role
Our client, a reputable developer known for its commitment to quality and innovation, is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join their growing team in Bristol . This role is central to the successful delivery of exciting new build projects, requiring strong leadership, meticulous planning, and effective execution. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process, from pre-construction planning and budgeting to site management and project closeout. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing residential and commercial developments, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of construction best practices. This is a key opportunity to drive projects forward and contribute to the continued success of our client in the South West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, programmes, and resource allocation strategies.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage and coordinate all project stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Control project costs, manage variations, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges and implementing solutions.
- Ensure all works comply with contract specifications, building regulations, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor performance.
- Manage the handover process and ensure client satisfaction.
- Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious working environment on site.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction project management.
- Proven experience managing residential and commercial projects, ideally in the Bristol area.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, scheduling, and contract administration (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software.
- Ability to manage budgets and control project costs effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- SMSTS qualification required.
