About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the aviation sector, is actively seeking an accomplished Lead Aviation Project Manager to spearhead key initiatives from their **Coventry, West Midlands, UK** office. This critical role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex aviation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, resources, and timelines for aviation projects.
- Manage project execution, coordinating activities of cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and regulatory affairs.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure successful delivery.
- Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial objectives are met.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and internal management, to ensure alignment and clear communication.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant aviation safety regulations, airworthiness standards, and quality management systems.
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned to improve future project management practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically within the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Proven experience managing projects from initiation to closure, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA), airworthiness requirements, and industry best practices.
- Excellent financial acumen, including budget management and forecasting.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
