About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Project Manager to join their team in Reading . This hybrid role demands a strategic leader capable of overseeing complex mining projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of multiple mining projects simultaneously.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage project teams, including engineers, geologists, contractors, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, clients, and other stakeholders regarding project status, milestones, and challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the mining industry, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, project financing, and contract management.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
