About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned and results-driven Mining Project Manager to lead significant projects from their base near Reading . This role requires strategic planning, execution, and oversight of mining operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will manage all project phases, from initial feasibility studies and exploration through to development and production, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to spearhead impactful projects in the dynamic mining sector , utilizing a hybrid work model that balances strategic oversight with necessary site engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of mining projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of internal teams, contractors, and external consultants.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project finances, track expenditures, and report on financial performance.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management within the mining industry .
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale mining projects.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, geology, and processing techniques.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience operating effectively within a hybrid work environment, including site visits.
