About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects from anywhere in the UK, with a focus on initiatives impacting the Glasgow region. This role is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure developments, ensuring they meet rigorous quality, safety, and environmental standards. You will manage complex project lifecycles, coordinate diverse teams of engineers and specialists, and engage with various governmental and community stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with public interest goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of major infrastructure projects , including transportation, utilities, and public works.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and cost-effective project delivery.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving project objectives.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop proactive mitigation strategies for complex project challenges.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders , including government agencies, local authorities, and community groups, to ensure buy-in and address concerns.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in infrastructure project management .
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-million-pound infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and contract management .
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and risk management tools .
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline; PMP or equivalent certification required.
