About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead critical projects within the energy sector in Aberdeen, Scotland . You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of managing diverse teams and stakeholders in a demanding industry. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and operational excellence, contributing directly to the company's success and reputation as a leader in energy project execution, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement across all project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies effectively.
- Communicate project status, progress, and key decisions to senior management and stakeholders regularly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout project execution.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP or Prince2 certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management , with a significant portion within the energy sector .
- Demonstrated success in managing projects with budgets exceeding £1 million.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or equivalent.
