Overview In this role you lead the delivery and commercial success of complex multidisciplinary projects within HDR’s Building Engineering Services. You guide project teams, nurture client relationships, and ensure governance and objectives are met while supporting business growth. Responsibilities - Support Area Business Group Manager and leadership in strategic operations
- Promote HDR project management, commercial, quality and risk processes
- Contribute to business planning, workload forecasting and resource planning
- Mentor Project Managers and delivery staff
- Participate in recruitment, talent development and retention
- Encourage technical excellence and best practices across teams
- Provide guidance in project reviews, recovery plans and complex delivery issues
- Contribute to bid reviews, pursuits and mobilisation for major opportunities
- Foster collaboration across groups, disciplines and regions
- Develop and improve project management standards, templates and lessons learned
- Conduct project audits, governance reviews and QA activities
- Ensure compliance with HDR Quality Management Systems and environmental procedures
- Promote safety, integrity, accountability and continuous improvement
- Represent HDR in industry forums and client organizations
- Perform other duties to support growth
Key requirements - Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience with multidisciplinary projects
- Demonstrable experience in a Senior Project Manager leadership role
- Professional registration or chartership (CEng, IEng or equivalent) preferred
- Project management qualification such as APM PMQ, ChPP, PMP or equivalent desirable
- Proven track record of managing complex projects with technical, programme and commercial responsibility
- Experience across all project lifecycle phases from bid to closeout
- Experience of contract administration, commercial management and change control
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing external consultants/contractors
