Overview In this role you will oversee a major station upgrade project in North London within a main contractor environment. You will drive business results, lead the integrated project team, and manage HSQE and procurement activities. You will support Tender processes and represent the project to senior management and clients like TFL/NR. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on planning, risk management, and effective communication across cross-functional teams. The position offers exposure to high-profile rail infrastructure work and stakeholder coordination.
Responsibilities - Manage project business results and scheduling
- Define project organisation and responsibilities; allocate work to team and service providers
- Communicate project requirements to team; set stretch targets
- Establish client/representative communications; coordinate information flow among project team and third parties
- Lead HSQE management and approve IMS plan; manage procurement deadlines
- Oversee contract programme reviews and works packages; assist in subcontractor/supplier awards
- Contract management and progress supervision; implement change controls
- Collaborate in staff recruitment and training needs; provide external project depiction to management
- Prepare and deliver period commercial and delivery reporting to internal stakeholders
- Coordinate project planning, risk/opportunity evaluation, and training needs
- Support tender processes for Network Rail and related projects
Key requirements - Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or similar
- Previous experience as a Project Manager on Network Rail projects (Stations, bridges etc.)
- Commercial, Financial, Project and Programme management experience
- Excellent leadership and tendering skills
- Full UK Drivers licence
- Flexible to travel between Swindon and London as required
- Good numeracy and IT skills – MS Office, Word, Excel
