Overview As a Design Engineer/Project Manager, you will standardize structured cabling and related ICT infrastructure for Amazon offices across EMEA. You will collaborate with design consultants, vendors, and internal teams to drive cost reductions, establish design standards, and ensure construction-ready designs. You will manage budgets, schedules, and risks while coordinating across time zones and promoting best practices. This role combines hands-on design oversight with strategic delivery to support rapid, compliant deployments. You will contribute to continuous improvement and influence large-scale corporate IT installations.
Responsibilities - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to select design consultants and low-voltage contractors
- Identify cost-saving design opportunities and review pricing requests
- Adopt a vendor-agnostic design approach and set tolerances
- Update budget tracking tools and refine infrastructure design materials
- Implement design standards to deliver construction-ready designs
- Coordinate supply chain forecasts and review consultant progress weekly
- Identify critical-path risks and provide resolutions
- Support Vendor Manager with operational metrics and quarterly business reviews
- Act as main point of contact for internal customers on cabling and containment
- Travel ~20% for stakeholder meetings and project visits
- Train LVCs and design consultants on Amazon specifications
- Participate in infrastructure lifecycle planning and cabling roadmap alignment
- Maintain timely, concise communication with stakeholders and develop project metrics
Key requirements - 5+ years ICT design experience
- 5+ years delivering corporate office fit-outs from design through deployment and close-out
- 5+ years working with Audio Visual, WiFi, fiber optics, copper cabling, and interconnects
- BICSI Certification or internationally recognized equivalent
- Experience with CAD tools (Revit, AutoCAD) and Bluebeam
- PMP or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectations
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
