Overview In this role you lead complex rail projects within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality work on time and within budget. You will coordinate disciplines, manage client expectations, and drive risk, cost, and schedule controls. You collaborate with internal teams and client offices to execute programs of regional and national importance. Responsibilities - Coordinate disciplines through project meetings and workshops to resolve critical issues and meet safety, functional, and regulatory requirements
- Establish robust project processes and procedures in collaboration with the client
- Act as primary client contact to align design and construction with their needs
- Develop and manage client and stakeholder relationships through effective listening and influencing
- Compile monthly project reports and data-driven scenarios for senior managers
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and community groups
- Facilitate regular project meetings, presentations, and progress reports
- Manage contract in accordance with NEC3 & NEC4 rules of engagement
- Oversee budgets, cost estimation, tracking, and reporting
- Identify and mitigate risks, manage changes/delays, and improve project management processes
- Drive innovative design and construction solutions and integrate new technologies to improve performance
- Discharge CDM duties as required by the client
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with client and stakeholders
- Coordinate with Planner on detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Monitor progress and implement corrective actions when needed
- Ensure safe and environmentally responsible delivery in line with governance and standards
Key requirements - Degree in a relevant engineering or management discipline
- Chartered membership or near completion advantageous
- APM/MSP/PMI/PRINCE2/Six Sigma certifications considered beneficial
- Experience managing NEC3/4 contracts
- Experience in project management, including Technical and Project Controls
- Experience delivering on significant client-side projects (design and build)
- Experience with organisations such as Transport for Wales, Network Rail is advantageous
- Proven ability to manage workstreams within a multi-disciplinary delivery team
